Ohio State Route 301 is a 45.33-mile-long north–south state highway in the northern portion of Ohio. The southern terminus of Ohio State Route 301 is at Ohio State Route 302 in Chester Township, in Wayne County nearly 5.50 miles south of West Salem. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 6 in Sheffield Lake, in Lorain County.

I started photographing the road shortly after starting to work at Retina Vitreous Associates in Mansfield, Ohio. It was my 3 day a week commute for a little over 10 years. The work was titled “Just off Ohio State Route 301”, as many of the over 500 images included areas along the road but not all on the road. With the Lorain County photographs the collection is over 1,000 photographs.

My question was “can photography drive an economy like it often does with politics and culture?”  Still unsure at this time.

In 2016 the commute ended because of family health issues and my focus turned to Lorain County.

The few images here only include those south of Penfield Township in Lorain County. Images of areas in Lorain County listed to the left are available on the link to the left, it is the domain https://elyria-ohio.us owned by me. All the images in these collections’ rights are reserved and owned by Iris Imaging.
