Architectural Photography

The architectural photography of Michael L. McCray (owner of Iris Imaging) from ©1983-2025 All Right Reserved

My architectural photography is really a tribute to those who create and have created the world we live in at this moment of time.

One of the first cameras that I owned was a 4x5 view camera, which was a wonderful tool for photographing architecture. My first full-time photography job, before the internet, was photographing real estate daily in most of Western Cuyahoga and Lorain County. It was published weekly by the MLS (multiple listing service) and delivered to realtors every week. I held that position for a year and returned to school to learn and explore other photographic interests. However, my love of architectural structures has not diminished.

There are a wide variety of types of architectural specialties.

  • Commercial

  • Industrial

  • Residential

  • Landscape

  • Urban Design

  • Interior Design

  • Green Design

  • Preservation

  • Lighting

My current interest is in internal and external linear panoramas.

  • Key Tower and 1964 sculpture by Marshall Fredericks erected as a memorial to local military who died in conflicts.
  • Skylight
  • Oberlin Ohio
  • Lighting
  • Wall
  • Bass Library LCCC
  • LCCC
  • Cleveland Museum of Art
  • Lakewood Park Steps
  • Boom Time
  • Veterans Memorial Bridge
