Our feral cats
At present
Why do I include feral cats in nature in my yard? Because like it or not, cats are part of nature.
I am aways amused by those who are trying to restore the planet to what they imagine it once was in the past. It depends on what period of time on decides to recreate. Good luck with that as evolution is an ongoing process and man is an integral part of the process.
I am allergic to cats. However, I find them amusing and my daughter had a cat that my allergic reaction was milder than with other cats that I have encountered, and she needed to move back to our home. The cat was only mildly destructive, and we gave her the second floor which is where the cat stayed most of the time. It died one day that was it.
One day a little black male cat came to the door. We have lot of them in the neighborhood. It was really in bad shape and extremely friendly but with numerous wounds. I put some food out for it and brushed it when it came around. I had bench which converted into a little house in which and fed it, but it preferred to live under my porch and elsewhere over the winter.
Early summer this year a white and gray cat started coming around and within a little longer than I month we went from one cat, two cats to eight cats. And now we are five cats, three which are kittens.
In our search for solutions, we have discovered that there are plenty of laws and rules governing feral cat and very few solutions in Lorain County.
